Michael L. Millenson, an independent consultant, is the author of the critically acclaimed book, Demanding Medical Excellence: Doctors and Accountability in the Information Age, and holds an appointment as the Mervin Shalowitz, M.D. Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management

National Public Radio called Millenson "in the vanguard of the movement" to measure and improve the quality of medical care. Earlier in his career, as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, Millenson was nominated three times for a Pulitzer Prize. He currently sits on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Medical Quality and Quality and Safety in Health Care.
